Professor Dany Azar (born 19 August 1973) is a Lebanese paleontologist and entomologist. He is a Research Director and Professor at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Sciences II. He has undertaken field work in Lebanon, China, France, UK, Spain, Poland, Svalbard, USA, and South Africa. Professor Azar published more than 200 papers in scientific journals. He has discovered more than 450 amber outcrops, he has received several international awards. He is today a world authority in palaeoentomology, President of the International Palaeoentomological Society IPS, and Vice-President of the World Council of Amber.
